I promise you it is a 5mw “leadlight” laser, anything with more power is illegal in the USA.
its a laser, the only reason you need, unless you’re a do-it-yourself- person, then you can juts make one ;p
I got two of these during the last Woot!-off and neither of them came with batteries. Prolly got pulled because they were dead anyway…

probably safe to assume its 5mw. I have a true 50mw laser that can burn through plastic and pop ballons as long as the material is dark enough to soak up the light

Very similar tot he one I purchased back in 2002 for the princely sum of $139.99 right down to the exact same case and Toshiba AAA cells… So I’ll stick my neck out and say its a ~5mw average output which is still bright, but you can’t burn stuff with them. I’m in for 3.
Are these dangerous? People often talk about the need for eye protection when using a laser (even when pointing to away from yourself).
Would these require eye protection?
Got one, actually two, several months ago to drive the dog nuts chasing the dot. Dog seems to prefer a red laser.
