Review on the 16 Inch

Not too many reviews that I could find out there on either of these machines. Nor is there much in the way of information or evaluation on these machines.

However, it seems that the price is certainly very reasonable…and woots price is a very good one. The engines are similar in displacement and features to the other chainsaws at popular prices. This one comes with a case, which is something you don’t usually get with a low cost chain saw. Finally, you get a two year warranty which should put a lot of buyers at ease.

If I needed a new chainsaw, I would feel confident enough in this product to buy one.

Blah blah blah zombies blah blah undead blah blah…

Sorry, figured I’d beat folks to it…

One user of the 18-inch model complains in Amazon comments that the chain is not readily available at US Hardware stores. You have to order replacement chains through the company.

I think I will stick with Husqvarna, Stihl, or McCulloch even though they cost twice as much. These companies have been around for decades and have readily available parts. I’ve had a cheap McCulloch for 12 years that still works great. I just need a longer bar. The Green Machine is made in China, and while that is not necessarily bad, I fear you might be buying a disposable chainsaw that can’t be repaired once it quits. It will probably work fine until then.

Newbie question. Is this a 2 cycle engine? Says gas, instead of mix. Not clear on the inter-webs, either

Ladies, this makes the perfect bridal shower gift. Pair with a box of Hefty bags and a big ol’ bottle of Clorox, and you’re good to go.

Because you never know.

This is a 2 cycle engine. You would NEVER want a 4 cycle engine to power a chainsaw. A 4 cycle would be much too heavy and could not produce the power of a 2 cycle. While there is at least one 4 cycle small chainsaw on the market, it won’t be long before it’s gone.

Or it would make a lovely Valentine Day gift for your wife or girlfriend. Why don’t you give your lady one of these and let us know how that works for you.

That name seems like an oxymoron.

Well, You get what You pay for. If you’re going to buy a chain saw Get a Stihl, It’s the choice of professionals.

Most chain saws are 2 cycle, you add 2cycle oil(not motor oil) to the gas. If it says gas it means that you don’t need to plug it in.

I believe that most everyone knows that a Stihl is the Chainsaw of choice of professionals. Much like a Rolls Royce is the car of choice of those who know cars. By the way, do you own a Rolls Royce?

I bought this same saw last August off of Woot. It was the Homelite branded version of this saw - it looks identical except in color. I purchased a second blade from one of the big box stores - fits and works great. This is a good saw for occasional home use. If you are Paul Bunyan - you should not buy this saw - go get the 3x priced saws. (Paul Bunyan has a giant axe and does not need this saw anyway). great for storm clean up in wooded lot. It was a little less expensive last year - but these things happen!

Is Woot’s new modus-operandi to list something as ships in 3-5 business days and then change it to 3-8 days later? Look at the preview. This has happened on all my orders with woot lately and one of the reasons why I rarely even look at their site.
