My other half picked one of each of these up last time they were for sale. They’re perfect for the price.

Each one came with a cable, so you can secure the box to something and a kid or thief can’t grab it and take it elsewhere easily.

We have some larger handguns and they fit perfectly, with room for a spare clip. (A Long barrel will probably not fit. A larger 9mm or similar will.)

I wouldn’t use something like this to store a family heirloom, but for putting a boundary between a younger kid and a weapon - it’ll suffice.

I have been destroyed by my own impatience. I’ve been waiting and waiting for these to show up on work, and finally broke down and bought a different brand off Amazon. I already have a 200 model and love it, and I’m going to get another one because I still need a third gun vault. The 200 holds full size 1911. that means that holds just about anything. And the 18 gauge is worth the extra money. I highly recommend these. Note. These are not the kind of thing that you use to replace a big gun safe. You lock your gun in these in your car or use them when you’re traveling because they meet TSA standards.

Can you still take a firearm on an airplane as long as you have it locked in a guncase and would this safe qualify? I took my Colt officer’s model with me to Colorado years ago in just a guncase and they stored it with sporting goods.

Is anyone familiar with the NV300? If I give this to a family member who forgets the 3-digit passcode, how can it be opened?

#8

Nevermind, after seeing these reviews, I’m going with the NV200.

You simply drop it on a corner from about waist high and it pops open…it won’t ever lock again but it’s quick and painless as long as you miss your toe.

#10

yes you can and yes these qualify… and will fit easily in your checked baggage.

#11

What exactly influenced your decision to go with NV200?

Yes, as I understand, it would qualify for flights. It just had to be a hard, lockable container that only you can open. For those not familiar, to do so, you declare the firearm at the ticket counter, show it is unloaded, sign declaration of such, secure in hard lockable container, the container itself I’d then checked, or placed in checked bag. All ammunition must be in original box or box specifically made to hold ammunition. I prefer a larger case that can be checked on its own, which seems less likely to be stolen than one placed in a piece of luggage. But this safe would meet the requirement. Always check regulations of airline and destination…
