With an impressive 20,000 mAh battery, this camping fan has an inbuilt 2.5x2.4ft mono-crystalline silicon solar pane
Say what 2.5 x 2.4 Feet?? How big do they think this fan is? lol
It has to be able to cool you down while it sits in the sun to recharge probably all day.
Yeah, this thing is lying through its teeth.
They say it’s a 20,000 mAh battery. That’s about 74 watt-hours. A 5V/2A wall plug can only push 10 watts. Even if it was magically 100% efficient, you’re looking at 7.4 hours to fill it. In the real world with heat and conversion losses, it’s closer to 9-10 hours. Their “6 hours” claim is fantasy island.
The solar claim is even dumber. To charge 74 Wh in 8 hours, you’d need around a 12-watt panel aimed perfectly at the sun all day. The little panel on this thing is maybe 1–3 watts on a good day. That means you’re looking at multiple days in direct sunlight, not one sunny afternoon.
Basically, either the battery is way smaller than they claim, or they’re straight-up making numbers up. The math just doesn’t work.
Just looked it up on mothership, it’s 30$ not a great deal for this
The fan is still recharging…
This is Dave’s fault
