I was in in the original kickstarter. I don’t handgrind often, but I like this unit and still keep it for emergencies.
I was also an original Kickstarter, getting mine after a year delay due to endless quality-control issues in China with critical parts such as the ceramic burr grinder shrinking more than expected out of the oven and inconsistent machining of the drive shaft.
Then there was inaccurate silk-screening of the settings. These folks sweated bullets trying to maintain quality! My unit came with small washers (shims) to further get it set right.
Still, the grind was not consistent and I could never get the espresso grind I needed.
But it was a great lesson in engineering and quality control woes.
Ain’t nothing wrong with a little bump and grind…
