Hansen-Garbarino, or H-G Vineyards was named after our founder, Jeff Hansen’s parents family names. His great grandfather brought vines over from Italy in the 1940’s which are still on the property today. Jeff, a 5th generation Californian whose family has been an integral part of California’s rich agricultural history has dedicated more than 25 years to the national and international growth of California’s wine business. Hansen has developed distribution for California wines throughout the U.S. and in over 40 countries worldwide. He has been a pioneer in the development of California wines outside the U.S., and in his career has put over 10 million cases of wine into distribution. His family, now in its 6th generation, is continuing to grow and build and important position in the wine industry. It is the history of the Hansen family in California agriculture that connects H-G to similar families who have been growing wine grapes for many generations. H-G works closely with those growers who are equally dedicated to quality grapes and the growth of the industry.

Hi and thanks for the question. A cask is another term for barrel, although casks can be bigger than a standard barrel. In reference to our wine, we decided to use “cask” rather than reserve to denote the uniqueness of this wine, as it is a single vineyard reserve wine we produced . The term cask is used more regularly outside of the US and since our owner is very influenced by Italian and European wines, it adds “cultural” significance. :slight_smile:

100% Pinot Noir from most highly rated Dijon Clones. 50% from Clone # 667 and 50% from Clone # 777. The grapes come form a small artisan producer in the Santa Maria Valley, Cottonwood Canyon.
