Never associated quality Pinot noir with Lodi…
I missed South Dakota as a “allowed to Ship to State” I believe legislation allows shipments after 1/1/16.
Each winery has to have the proper licensing, though. Not every winery has a license for all states, even if wine can technically be shipped there.
Why not? Hot days and cool breezes off the Delta at night allow Lodi AVA to grow many varietals to include Pinot Noir. This temperature is great for Pinot Noir.
