It has been awhile since the small county fair. I worked at the gas station, and the number of the regulars were drivers. So half the fun was watching them lose and go full send with their unique character traits.

My husband ran a Pinto in a derby once. He spray painted “Hit me here” on the rear of the thing.

If I remember correctly, it was one of the grandstand events at a rodeo in Northern Montana my uncle took my family to back in the 60’s. I was pretty young and my dad had to explain what the drivers were doing. It was pretty wild.

I’ve been to a few monster truck shows, but I don’t think they count. Attending a demolition derby is pretty high on my bucket list.

I have been to several. My favorite is the one with a boat tied to a car on a figure 8 track.

Once, my dad took me to a demolition derby when I was very young. I remember clowns running around trying to be funny while the junk vehicles crashed into each other.

Yes, a few times at Santa Fe Speedway in Hinsdale, Illinois back in the 80s when I was a teenager. It was sooo much fun. They had a dirt track and anything goes attitude. Talk about an excited crowd. Good times.
Edit: They also had the powder puff derby- which was the girls having their own fun too.

Attended my first when I was 5 or 6 years old, and many more since. In the two most recent occasions my son was one of the drivers: less fun for me than previously, but he made it through ok and actually won one.
