Have you ever won BIG playing a scratcher?

I occasionally buy things from Woot. Obviously, it’s a sign that I haven’t won big.

I can’t even win a BravoOscarCharlie and you think that with my luck I’d win BIG on anything?
Maybe my biggest was $500. I saved half and bought more scratchers only to lose what I played ![]()

Yk, they say luck favors the bold…

But never me…
I hope it turns around… it’ll right…!?

No, overall it’s a loss.

No but I’ll keep scratching.

I won $50 on a scratcher once.. don’t remember how much I paid for it, but it seems like it was a $5 one. But then I’ve also lost about every other time I did them too.. so I’m still negative overall.
Nope. I won $100 once.
Every now & then, when I’m in a 7-11, I buy ‘em.
Sure, it’s a waste of money, mostly, but that teensy bit of anticipatory adrenaline is nice. ![]()

My wife’s family gives out lottery tickets for every birthday, every holiday, any occasion to give lottery tickets as a party favor or present. Almost a decade of this, all $1-5 tickets, nobody in the family has won more than maybe $10 at a time in all this time. Personally I think I’ve only gotten $5 here and there, otherwise it’s all losers or the occasional $1 ![]()
I only play when I get them as gifts, but I have a friend that won $50,000 on one. Pretty sure he spent more than that on them over the years so he’s still in the red.
Yes, 50K (but our lovely government takes 25% right off the top, so it was actually 37.5K)
I’ve never won a particularly big prize from a scratch-off. But I used to have a roommate of over a decade, who just so happened to share the exact same birthday as I did, and whose mother (a VERY nice lady) used to send us each a birthday card every year and would include a scratch-off. My roommate used to get so ticked off because their scratch-offs quite literally NEVER won ANYTHING. But EVER SINGLE scratchoff that she sent to me always had some sort of prize, ranging from only a dollar to around $50 or so. It was actually pretty funny!
I’ve been a woot member for about 10 years and can’t even win a chance to buy a bag of crap. and have never won a contest because people here have way more skill electronics wise than me. It’s like that for me with lottery tickets, I’ve tried to win, the thrill isn’t really there, and me chasing bags of crap here has also lost it’s thrill as others are just better at it and I accept it and just look for useful deals.
