I have a flash drive that suddenly won’t open. There are plenty of free websites for recovering info from a drive, but are they safe/reliable?
Anyone have any experience/recommendations/words of encouragement?

From the description of the problem, I’ll have to make a few assumptions. This is fairly common, I have had it happen to me a few times, and there isn’t really any thing you did to cause it.
It sounds like it is just the file system that is corrupted and won’t open, but that isn’t so bad as the Card retains all the data. **Don’t keep using the memory card since any new data you write to it could overwrite the old stuff you need to recover.
There are programs that can recover it that you can get for free. Takes about 5 minutes to do the work. (I can’t seem to find my favorite, its on sourceforge.net)
