Some good reviews (3.5 out of 5.0) over at Walmart.com

Boot and charge time are a bit hefty, but for light duty, it’s not that bad.

Review over at Trusted Reviews

And here’s another review for the Sero 8 from The Digital Reader.

I had the Sero Pro 7 for almost 2 years before it croaked. I used that tablet every day for several hours, and one day it just up and wouldn’t boot.

The internal space isn’t terrific, but the microSD slot makes that a moot point. I liked the high resolution - this one is 1280x800! - and wasn’t overly heavy, so I could comfortably hold it on one hand.

I’ve replaced my 7 with a larger Asus, so I’ll pass on this one. If I needed another tab, this one would be a serious contender.

Reviews on Amazon mention dud units, with failures in the Google Play app. When you get yours, I’d suggest putting it through its paces immediately and vigorously. Also complaints about sound quality and camera quality. Other than that, looks like a good value at $50.

1).does this have WiFi?
2). and it says ‘refurbished’, does this mean it is used and reconditioned for market sale again?

Yes to both

I’ve owned this tablet for about 5 months. I also bought it refurbished. My 4 year old loves playing games on it, and it’s been perfect for her. I haven’t had any issues with it’s reliability or performance, so I do recommend it for light users (e.g. web surfing, email, youtube, basic games).

I think it’s a good value for $50.

…thank you!

Had one for a few years and it is a great small cheap tablet, it is not an Ipad, just a good fairly fast Android tablet. Mine has been rooted and ROM’ed for most of its life and once the bloatware is gone it runs even better. The camera is nothing to write home about but I think people trying to take pictures with a tablet just look kinda weird. For $50 it is a good deal, I paid $99 for mine and thought it was a good deal.

…another question, does it come in its original box, etc.?

How does this compare to the new Amazon Fire that is the same price?

Probably not. Most likely a plain brown box.

And to your previous question about refurbished, here’s our definition:

“Refurbished” covers everything from buyers’ remorse returns and products whose defects have been repaired by the pros to damaged packaging and discontinued items. If you can accept their checkered past, refurbs have a lot of love to give.

…thank you, Thunder

“Capture your greatest moments
Never worry about out of focus or dark photos of your little one’s performance again. The Sero 8 camera ensures a crisp, clean shot every time.”

{not really!}

It’s a 2 megapixel camera, where most newer models have 8. Of course, it is cheap. But if photos are important to you, consider this. Get the right tool for the job.

Camera has same specs: VGA front-facing camera. 2 MP rear-facing HD camera. Can’t tell you about the lens or anything else.

Can you give us (me) a quick recollection of rooting and ROM-ing, and maybe what ROM(s) you’ve used?
