Home Theater: A Sound Decision

Speakers are singles right? only what is pictured? Not pairs?

The Pinnacle Baby Boomer sub is brand new and not open box units right? Looks like only 4 units sold after more than a day.

I am curious how 8" drivers can reach down to 23hz +/- 3 db.

Tthe amp is presumably class D now when it was primarily class A/B in the earlier days.

Question: Anyone know what the RMS watts is on this, rather than the 600 watt peak rating?

You’re likely to find better info via google or http://avsforum.com/

Hi, and thanks for your question. I am Arin, TEAM LEADER Pinnacle Speakers. All our products here are brand new factory fresh merchandise.

Baby Boomer is a standout performer with many exceptional rave reviews from the most critical industry press. BABY BOOMER is a groundbreaking subwoofer using 2 active Heavy duty 8" woofers arranged in a BIPOLE configuration. As such, the total cone surface area is greater than a sinble 12" woofer. We have essentially gotten the bass depth and volume of a 12-15" high quality woofer into a small 10" cube. It is an engineering marvel. We have many unique and proprietary technologies to pull this off. ANything close is in the thousand dollar range. So, we offer these to WOOT at a truly ridiculous bargain. Many many WOOT customers are delighted with the performance and unbeatable WOOT only price.

As to 23Hz low end, that is inherent in ou unique design as indicated above. THe amp is 600 W peak and 300 RMS, which is essential to drive the dual woofers in a sealed (non ported) enclosure. And so, we are certain that this compact and explosive sub, which is outstanding for both music and movies, will be the best bargain you could ever imagine. I know, I have worked here 10 years. Many people gladly spent $1000 and rave about this product.

As we enter our 38th year Pinnacle is the longest running USA based independently owned Speaker company.

Thanks for your questions, I am sure this item will sell out. It usually does.

There is no such thing as a “DUMB” question. These are complicated decisions. So, if you have a question, please ask. Chances are your question will also help many other Woot forum people.

I am a specialist in Pinnacle, although I cannot speak for other company products, I can try to assist in building a system with our products and some existing items you may already own.

Our Pinnacle SFITTWR 1050 and BD 2500 lacquer are priced and shipped as singles.

How does this attach to the TV? I have a 55" Panasonic plasma and I just can’t get my head around how it couples to the TV/monitor.

Any chance we see the BD 650s anytime soon? I purchased the BD 500 for my upstairs system and have been very pleased. Would like to use 2 650s, 2 500s, a 600, and one of the subs as my system downstairs, but I need them to be all on the same sale!

I do not specifically know which item you are referring to, but for PINNACLE we have 3 SOUNDBARS or SOUNDBAR with SUBWOOFER options in this event. Qp9W PWRBR, POWERONE 2.1, FRONTROWSYS 8210. In each case, 1 simple cable is connected from the soundbar direct to the TV OPTICAL OUT input and that is it. 1 cable tot the TV and 1 plug to the electrical outlet, and you are done.It will take a few minutes.

In our line up, QP9W PWRB is our best SOUNDBAR, it has superior performance.

We have 2 systems using a subwoofer, POWERONE HT 200 is our best product, it includes a built in powered usbwoofer and patented technology.

Also, we have FRONTROWSYS8210 which include both a Soundbar and a wireless powered subwoofer.

The best and simplest solution is POWERONE HT 200. It also slides under the flat screen TV as it’s own TV base.

I hope that answers your question,

Rumors I have heard indcate you may have a shot at BD 750 2014 edition. A brand new item quite similar to BD 650ll. Maybe in a few months, They are worth waiting for.

Thanks Arin. Ordered one. And had someone else order another one so that we can make a pair. Appreciate your responsiveness. I actually chat with you a while back on the phone when I called Pinnacle. VERY impressed by your company’s service!

Wish I could swing for the 12" which is supposedly even faster in the transients but just a bit too much $ for a pair.

Thanks again!

Arin (or others with more experience),

As a non-audiophile,home theater rookie, I am hoping that you might provide a little guidance. I am thinking I will purchase the Onkyo TX-NR626 7.2-Channel receiver that is on sale thru woot and am then looking to have a theater setup of either 2 towers, 2 towers w/ sub, or 2 towers, center, and sub. My theater room setup is not particularly flexible, so the distance between any center channel and the tower speakers would be only 4 feet. The overall room dimensions, however, are 16’ by 25’.

In this scenario, I am leaning toward getting a pair of the 5 channel towers that you are offering and the 12" powered sub. Given the size of the room, would having a center channel vastly improve the sound, in your opinion? Also, what differences would I encounter between the 12" sub and the dual 6.5" subs for instance? I will also be using this setup as my primary music listening system in my house, and I listen to all genres of music. As such, I would hope for a setup that produces quality sound for anything from jazz to bluegrass to the occasional Miley Cyrus guilty pleasure.

Any pairing suggestions and knowledge would be greatly appreciated as I am ready to pull the trigger, but don’t want to have a pair of speakers that don’t really match well with the size of a sub/center, etc.

Right now, if I went with my initial thoughts and research, my cart looks like this: Onkyo 7.2CH A/V Receiver w/ Wi-Fi & Bluetooth, 2 Pinnacle 5-Element Floor Speaker, 1 Pinnacle 5.25" Center Channel Speaker, and 1 Pinnacle Dual 6.5" 300W Powered Subwoofer. Would those speakers function well together and sound great in my space with my purposes?

Thanks in advance for your consideration!!

Hi and thanks for your consideration of our outstanding products. In my view, the large 16’ x 25’ room, the music listening being primary component and the 4’ proximity from Tower speakers to center are the primary issues to work with.

First, the Powered Subwoofer. This is a pretty large area. So, I think 1 BABY Boomer is a much more important step up from 1 SUBSONIC in a room of this size. If you could, I would suggest 1 BABY BOOMER in front for music and 1 PSSUB 225 as a rear sub to assist in filling up the large area. The extra limited money is well spent.

Next: SFITTWR 1050 is absolutely the right choice, especially for the room size. Now, 4’ distance for a center channel is tight. Yet still, a center is better and important than no center. So you should get BD 300.

In Summary, I suggest the following:

SUBWOOFER(S) 1 BABY BOOMER + PSSUB 225 if possible due to room size
Center: BD 300
REAR: SFITLCR 250, 1 pair

The above will be an exceptional music and movie system. Almost $4,000 of performance for about $950, including the 2nd subwoofer.

I will trust your expertise. Purchase made!

Thank you for your confidence. Enjoy your new system!

Anybody have any advice on the JBL 5.1system? I’ve been looking for a cheap but decent 5.1 system with a small footprint for a small bedroom.

I’m trying to decide between the FRONTROWSYS8210 and the QP9W PWRB
for purchase. I know you said that the QP9W PWRB is the best soundbar of the two, but will i miss not having the sub? Any advice or information you can give would be helpful.

Hi - Help please. I’m in a townhouse in a 20x20 main room. In the comments keep seeing that this speaker system is run through the tv. I run every thing first through my av receiver. Is this not what I need? And I already have a pretty good powered sub woofer. I also need the satellites, but bluetooth for them. Just trying to buy the best for my situation. If not this, what would you recommend?

Thanks in advance!
