Ive seen a lot of negative reviews on the Oknyo receivers, mainly that the HDMI blows out after a while. Does anyone here have personal experience with the Woot Oknyo receiver, perhaps having purchased it from a earlier deal? Feedback?
I bought the 560 and installed it a few months ago as my main HT system, using the Pinnacle speakers often seen here on Woot! I upgraded the firmware after setting it up (was a snap with wired Ethernet) and ran the self-calibration with the included microphone. Since then I’ve been super happy!
I’m no audiophile but this is by far the best system I’ve ever owned. No distortion no matter how loud I run my movies (and I like 'em loud). Lots of configurability to make things sound good, whether you want to EQ things manually or use the built-in dynamic EQs.
The unit does get a bit hot but I keep the stereo cabinet open and it seems to provide enough airflow to keep the unit happy. It’s never cut out on me.
The features are great, but I won’t drone on about them; you can read about it in many other threads. Bluetooth and internet connectivity is super useful and easy to get to. My only gripe is the remote. It isn’t very easy to use out of the box… it took a couple weeks of use to get used to it. Not the best design. But I do like that it can control my TV, Blu-Ray player and stereo all in one.
I own the Panasonic DMP-BD871 Blu-ray Player and I would recommend to keep away from it. its an ok DVD player but Netflix app. is very sluggish and personally I can’t get it to update firmware, it gets stuck when trying to find network and have to reboot it. I regret buying it but unfortunately I’m stuck with it.

I’ve had exactly the opposite experience with this BluRay player. It’s not the fastest or maybe the most feature rich device but it plays my DVD and BluRay discs without any issue. I don’t really use Netflix or any apps for it as we have those on the TV but other than that, for us it just works and works fairly well.
Does anybody have any experience with the Audio Solutions Wall Mount? It looks really tempting for the price. How easy is it to access the back of the TV if I need to get to the HDMI/component cable plugs?
Also, can someone from Woot confirm if this is a new unit or factory reconditioned? Thanks.

It’s the same as most low-profile wall mounts as far as access to the back… and it probably depends some on where the inputs are on the back of your TV, but mine is pretty easy to get to.
You can loosen the set screws and move it out a little to get to things as well.
Oh, and mine was new… not a refurb.
