I have one of these (albeit an older/different Hoover model) that I purchased a few years ago. This thing is no less than a miracle worker, epecially if you have routine pet clean ups.

I was regularly amazed how well this both cleaned problem areas and how quickly it dried after (i.e. most of the icky water gets picked up).

Despite the horror-show in the bucket afterwards, it was relatively easy clean up and store, making it a huge cost and convenience savings over steam-clean services or rentals.

Highly recommend for anyone with pets (especially ones that seemlying don’t understand the fundamental difference between inside from out).

I bought a Hoover SteamVac Carpet Cleaner with Clean Surge, F5914-900 from Amazon about a year ago. The model offered here on Woot looks like an improved updated version at a terrific price.
My SteamVac (there is no steam BTW) does an outstanding job of cleaning the carpets and works better than rented Rug Drs I’ve used.
At first I was disappointed it did not steam the carpet, but I have come to realize that heat is just as likely to set a stain as remove it.

Unfortunately I don’t need another one and can’t participate in this Woot. :frowning:

I have had a Hoover Steam cleaner for over 5 years. A godsend for those animal clean up issues. Quick and easy to use.
Mine after hard use for 5 years is still going strong and I paid a lot more for mine.
Wish I needed another one, this one looks like it is lighter and easier to move around.

I see that is it good for quick small jobs, what about whole rooms?

I’ve used ours for small areas and whole rooms. Works like a charm. These really are great. I’m on my second Hoover finally, after 10 years with the first.

How good is the hand tool, anyone know? I need something that’s as good at upholstery cleaning as it is on rugs/carpets.

I’ve found this hand tool to be more efficient than my previous Bissel shampooers. I love it on my stairs and upholstery and I use it in my vehicles as well!

Hmm I want this but just bought a ton of shirts.

Anyway, used a Bissel that looked like this and it had major design flaws, even though it cleaned well, getting dirty water out and cleaning the mess underneath the unit and the V part was not fun.

Looks like this one is not as low to ground in the middle underneath as the Bissel. The Bissel collected nasty rolled up balls of crude on the underneath and then randomly spread them onto the floor as you shampooed. Not good.

Can anyone confirm they used this one and it does not gather dirt ball under it?

I know this is Factory Reconditioned and all… but mine came in with dirty water in the tank, and no screws for the handles. Anyone know the part # for the screws?

Ugh. Sorry about that. It has a Hoover warranty. They should be able to send the screws to you.

I bought this to replace a 14 year old Hoover. The unit showed up, but the brush head was missing. Created a ticket and Woot took care of it quickly.
For cleaning, this unit really does the job well. I like the way the detergent is filled separately from the water. The old one would foam up adding more water/detergent to the tank. This one mixes it in the tank. It also lets you run a rinse with no detergent, this is nice for when you have to spot clean or pre-treat with other cleaners. So far so good, I am quite happy I bought this.
