What is the difference between sunny side up and fried?

Edit: i just googled it, weird that people flip fried eggs in the US?? In my country “fried eggs” is what you call sunny side up, never seen people flipping them. Why would you do that??

Edit2: so essentially this poll is asking
How do you like your eggs?

  • Fried
  • Fried
  • Fried
  • Scrambled

In the US, fried eggs are usually ordered according to how “well done” the person wants the yolk… “fried egg” by itself is not usually a full description.
You would order:
Fried egg, sunny side up (*the right way)
Fried egg, over easy (flipped and cooked for just a few seconds)
Fried egg, over hard/over well (killed and rubbery, for people who are dead inside)

The survey choices were odd :woman_shrugging:t2:

Scrambled with oil in a frying pan is also fried? LoL

Flipping it on the yolk for just a few seconds will cook all of that clear film but leave the yolk nice and runny.

Look at it this way, if a fried egg is a bowl of icecream, then an over easy egg is a bowl of icecream with whipped cream and a cherry. It’s not much more, but it is better.

Eggs are just unfertilized embryos. Can’t seem to get one down with that in my head.

You get aloe from cutting off an arm of the plant. The smell of fresh cut grass is how it signals distress aka screams in pain. Nature very rarely shows mercy.

Flipping just increases the risk of breaking the yolk to about 99% :-1:
