How It Really Works

This immediately reminded me of Perry Como singing “Catch a Falling Star.”

Ack. Double post.

It’s true - stardom can come with strings attached…

But sometimes ya’ just gotta cut loose…

Okay, I’ll stop now.

First this becomes the most kid-friendly shirt. Next, an epidemic of scissor and mobile related incidents strikes children’s bedrooms across the globe.

Maybe they’re 'mob’stars:

“Hey Frankie, boss ain’t too happy with yas twinklin’ of late…”

“But Vinnie, ain’t we pals?”

“I dunno, Frankie boy, The sun says we might have to ‘cut you out.’ But you know what I says? I says ‘Boss, I bet Frankie has real potential, he’s gonna be a star some day–a shooin’ star”

“No! Not the shootin’ star Vinnie! Not the shootin’ star!”

::SNIP::

“AAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH!”

here’s my theory: the star with the scissors was really just trying to save everyone else. He knew that with all the stars being so close together they were all doomed to collapse from their own mass into a black hole. get rid of the big trouble making star in the middle & now everyone is safe.

And it could teach kids never to run without scissors.

There once was a star hanging proud
From a large dark blue nebulous cloud
But along came his brother
Who chopped down the other
And laughed till he cried rather loud

This is dbjorns’ first derby print, I believe. Big congrats!

I think it’s sort of the other way around. In fact, I think this is the “Starship Troopers” Bugs new method of launching interstellar missiles at Earth.

so, did this shirt happen thousands of years ago?

Hey - this shirt got a 12-star review, er, I mean an 11-star review!

Could be. Shirt happens.

I feel like Timon and Pumba talked about this one before…

Sadly, I got the movie reference one line into the writeup. I saw the edited version on cable. It was awful and hilarious all at once.

Anyway, cute print. Congratulations to the artist!

If you know how many miles away the star was just divide by 5878639427505.244, the amount of miles light will travel in a year, & then you’ll know how long ago it happened. That’s 5 trillion, 878 billion, 639 million, 427 thousand 505 & 1/4 miles.

And those silly astronomers will rule it a scissorcide.

(LOVE this shirt)

I love how the stars (minus the one that’s falling) make up a heart

so is THIS how string theory works?!?

That woot.writeup reminds me of the Eagles song:

“Omi Cron lately
The new kid in town
Everybody loves you
So don’t let them down”

Great derby thus far!
