As a human who lives with the other extreme side in regards of sleeping speed, depth, and length, I can vouch that feeling. But at least based on the poll, I’m not that lonely ( I sleep after 90 mins, wake up very easily, and only for several hours ) as about 20 % have the same problem.
I hope this can help some here.
I use it for self and another poster in past has said the US military also teaches it. The main goal is gently push thoughts of obligations and tasks due out of mind. Have confidence that refreshed, tomorrow things will go better. Permit yourself to have rest. I focus on a flower in a imagined garden, looking at its beauty zooming down to its darkened center. Crowding out any other thoughts. Slow my breathing and sleep comes.
Some times very quickly, others maybe like 30 mins.

When I’m watching TV, I easily fall asleep during the last commercial of a show. I wake up realizing I once again missed the conclusion.
Same here!

It takes me too long to fall asleep, usually 30+ minutes daily. Worse is I wake within 3 hours & almost never get back asleep before the alarm sounds. Sweet retirement in 27 months! ![]()
It depends; right now once my head hits the pillow. I have missed Woot! open hours this week. Hopefully I will not be like this guy, sleeping in public is dangerous.

Every day is different. Sometimes hours, sometimes just a few minutes. And other times sleep comes out of nowhere. For instance, I fell asleep at a RUSH concert. Not a big fan of theirs, I worked 10 hours that day, and I was bored. I fall asleep watching tv sometimes as well
I use ocean wave sounds to lull me to sleep, and it rarely takes longer than 5-10 minutes til I’m out.
I guess I am lucky to fall asleep easily at this point. I used to have to wait until my brain would allow thoughts to calm down.
Forward to after having a kid, 20ish years and it’s less than 5 minutes now.
My partner can’t fall asleep easily, when he does he’s a light sleeper and averages 3-5 hours a night, darn insomnia for him ![]()
As soon as husband hits the pillow, he is out. I’m jealous. It generally takes me at least an hour to fall asleep, except for Sundays. Some nights I wonder if I ever fall asleep. ![]()
It depends on whether I need to be up early or not. If I have nothing going on in the morning I can fall asleep quickly and early. If I need to be up early I can’t sleep. Stupid anxiety. This is why I’ve always worked second shift jobs.
OUT FAST… Count to ten, I’m out by five.

Usually 5-10 minutes, with one very important caveat: there has to be a show/podcast/audiobook playing. Otherwise…

I’ve been told I’m usually snoring withing a few seconds of putting my head on the pillow… I don’t really have any recollection of it.
