  1. I clear my inbox throughout the day and place important emails in their own, specific subfolders. Even in the digital world, am a cluttered, hoarder organizer. :man_shrugging:

Got me beat. My unread is 5126. I mark them as read periodically.

Edit: just marked them all as read, down to 0.

I tried but the spam got too overwhelming and I just gave up :smiling_face_with_tear:

I mark it all as read, I don’t care anymore

Overwhelming spam is an understatement. Whatever email provider you are using not only turned off spam filter but started selling your email address to get more spam. If your email account was a house, it might be recommended to burn it down and move.

I don’t delete emails, so probably over 1000, but I think they get automatically deleted after a while.

About 90% is, “Hi you won a free gift” or “Issue with your credit card, please enter” or some scam like that. Then the rest is mostly receipts and ads from stores I actually care about.

Don’t give your important email to some random website is what I have learned. Wanna track down some number or check something? Use a secondary. Even use a secondary for shopping, even for places like Amazon and Woot stuff.

Wish they actually taught stuff like this in High school as a class. Something like a class titled “Here’s how to make life easier”.

On the main account the spam filtration somewhat works.
On the above dummy account, it helps a bit to discourage.

I have two primary emails. One I give out to people I actually know, and one I give out to people who will likely spam me.

The non spam one sits at a few hundred (mostly saved, important ones) right now.

Currently, the spam one sits at 249,343 unread. I have no idea how many read.
