I highly recommend this movie. It does contain serious subjects such as â– â– â– â– and violence, so it is definitely not for children, but it is one of the better movies out there.
For those of you who haven’t se n it, and choose not to, but have a sense of humor and aren’t easily offended, you can watch a short summary spoof of the movie as performed by the cast of Family Guy. Just Google “Family Guy Shawshank Redemption.” I’d post the link here, but in the first couple minutes there jokes about sex, race, ■■■■, and illusion to a handicapped individual defecating a pine cone.
To those who are easily offended, maybe don’t watch? Also, Woot brought up the movie not me! Blame Woot!

I remembered pieces from when my parents had it on. Maybe they rented it. I don’t remember being drawn in. I know it is film royalty given the performances and subject matter, but I am ok with fragments and not rewatching. Greenmile stands out to me more.
