Is there a way to stay logged on for any amount of time over 5 - 10 minutes? Nearly every time I open the app it’s requiring me to log in when I try to purchase anything. It ruined every chance I had of getting a Box of Crap yesterday and has made me lose out on multiple items that sell out quickly.
Hoping there is some sort of fix for this. Would the amount of time I stay logged in vary depending on the type of device I’m using? I am typically on a mobile device but I’m open to using a laptop/desktop or iPad if that will help.
nothing can be done through woot’s interface, woot relies on Amazon’s framework and Amazon has security requirements that is requiring the logins .
but you may be able to get around that or speed it up through woot’s developer API’s and building an app that log’s in much faster than through the GUI.
request a dev API and give’r a try
In my experience, I get that frequently on the app when the items are in high demand (BOCs, midnight madness, etc). BUT, I don’t think it has lowered my ability to still purchase the items. I was taken aback the 1st few times it happened, but now I approach it differently…
I EXPECT it to log me off now. I take that as A GOOD SIGN that the item is in my cart and ready to be purchased. I then click on the “Allow” buttons that will log me back on, log me off again, log me back on, etc. as QUICK as possible. (Usually I am logged off TWICE consecutively.) But I always end up back in my cart, with my item ready to purchase, and waiting for me to complete the sale. I’m pretty sure that my rate of success is well over >50% (probably much higher)
Bottom line? Don’t get discouraged. Just quickly complete the logoff, login, logoff, login process and your item can still be yours!!
system is like your mom or dad sometimes: Sometimes they get overwhelmed by life and neglect you.
But if you ask a nanny, you may not get as neglected bc they are an adult and conversations to your mom and dad for an answer is faster.
Or: you need an answer from the busy CEO of Fanny-Mae during the 2008 Fanny-Mae caused financial crisis.
Website Method:
calling their main phone number (website URL)
then talking to the secretary for a ticket number (load website for Amazon Login ticket #).
Going through the call menu’s (website GUI [Graphical {pictures of buttons, icons} User {you} Interface {click button to send codes that make computer go brr}]),
talking to the secretary for a ticket # that expires (load website for Amazon Login ticket #).
waiting in the busy queue (Loads website GUI with the VOP),
then talking to the secretary for a ticket # bc it expired (load website (secretary) for Amazon Login (Ticket # again).
Forwarded to the CEO’s phone (checkout website & button) for the answer (click the Checkout button to sends computer message code to process payment)
API method:
Send the secretary a text (API) for the ticket # (Amazon Login)
Send a text (API) with the ticket # directly to the CEO’s number (checkout computer message code to process payment.)
(API is faster and more efficient bc it doesn’t need to load everything in the web browser and the checkout button, just to click that checkout button to send the computer code/message. the API just send directly.
