I bought this last time it was offered. I came with Windows in S-mode, and no product key. Woot was not very helpful or responsive regarding solving the problem. I ended up sending it back. I still haven’t received my credit. It’s a decent computer for the money, but I’d buy from a more credible source.
Switching out of Windows 10 “S” mode is a free three-click upgrade to Windows 10 Home. Product keys have not been used since Windows 7. Starting with Windows 8, the product key is linked to your CPU.
Its was loaded with Windows 10 Pro in s-mode. All attempts at the Microsoft store wanted me to spend $199 to upgrade. Woot customer service was no help.
There’s no charge to switch out of S mode.
