They’re ba-ack!

What, is there an entire warehouse full of these things?

No wonder if there is, 1366x768, just, ugh.

The Tosh with 1920x1080 and 4GB of RAM, now that’s a versatile machine!

Bought one and it has been great. Bullet proof. My teenager has had it the entire time. Still going strong.

I have the 2013 version. Love it.

Great machine. If this works just as well and IF this will do what you need, this is a great deal IMHO.

Don’t do it! I bought one in May and almost immediately the 8 keys (6,7,y,u,h,j,n,m) quit working. Notified Woot several times with no response, did internet research only to find this is a very common problem with no solution other than $80-120 for a new keyboard which might work. Run, don’t walk from this deal.

Bought the 4 GB RAM/32 GB SSD/Intel Celeron 2955U version of this in June '14 and it’s been terrific. Put Linux on it and you’ve got a real computer. Mine was $219 so this one for only $50 less is not that good a deal.

Funny that nobody else on Woot has reported this…including me.

Guess what? Not everyone is interested in converting their computer to a “better” version of Linux.

For most people, and for the price, this is just fine. One can spend hours and more dollars to find something a little better, but for many it just is not an issue.

Which must explain why they keep coming back - so popular that Woot has/finds so many refurbished models to sell to all those “not an issue” people.

More power to them. Oh, wait, no. Less power to them.

Actually, I did, the last time these were on sale. I ordered 2 of them a couple months ago, and one of them had half the keys stop working within a month. The so called warranty isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on, the company that refurbishes these would not honor it, and I ended up sending it back to woot for a refund. They are currently processing my return, so here we are 2 months out and I have no computer, and no money. What a bargain! I can only imagine what’s in store for me if I have any problems with the other one I bought. Lesson learned.

Just to prove my point, here ya go, just from the comments on 1 of the past sales:

So counting the previous poster, and me, that’s 5, and I didn’t even have to dig. These things suck.

Guess what? These are not anywhere near the same computers as the one I bought. Half the RAM, half the SSD, an Atom instead of a Celeron processor and no free wireless data. Do what you want with it, but the $50 discount is nowhere near enough. These should be selling for around $119.

Have three HP chromebooks from Woot. Great for general net browsing. The screen isn’t that great, though. Have to adjust the angle every now and then for the most optimal view. On one of them, the track pad stopped working, but plugging in a usb mouse brings the cursor back to life.

LOVE my Chromebooks soooo much I buy them for friends and relatives to get connected!!! AWESOME … PC type machines with APPLE instant on availability. PERFECT!

Bought one of these (the blue one) last round and love it. Bout a While one with the 4G about a year ago that’s still in use. Makes a great couch/bed surfer, or something visitors can use if they want to check their email. Great little computers and the build quality is superb, my refurb looks brand new. You won’t regret it.

Thanks, wish I had time to just sit around taking uninformed shots a folks like that guy. If you still have yours, I straightened out the large ribbon cable and folded it differently when re-assembling (also reseated the cable) and it’s worked for a few days now. Like all technology, it’s great when it works!

Hey, I’m seeing keyboard issues as well. How do I return this?
