HEY ALL!

You’re eyes are not deceiving you. This is pretty much the same laptop.

THE ONLY DIFFERENCE is that this one does not have a WEB CAM like the previous one did.

So if you’re not looking for web cam action, this might be the one for you.

I have one of these for work, and they are solid machines. Dropped it on the corner from 2 feet on to concrete removing it from my motorcycle - bend the corner of the titanium lid, but it still kept going.

One thing that have plagued these HPs is display fails (backlight failing), but otherwise these are solid business-grade machines.

Does this one have a dvd burner or just player?

It’s a reader only.

I have the 8760W Elitebook and it is completely reliable and durable. I will never buy another consumer notebook again. Oh, and I got mine refurbed as well. This is a great business notebook.

Thanks, Ill pass on this one…

Or a CD Writer? Anyone?

As it is stated in the Specs tab
DVD-ROM in only able to read CDs and DVDs

in the HP spec sheet the options are

a. Blu-ray R/RE DVD+/-RW SuperMulti DL Drive

b. Blu-ray ROM DVD+/-RW SuperMulti DL LightScribe Drive

c. DVD+/-RW SuperMulti DL LightScribe Drive

d. DVD-ROM Drive

Woot has it listed with option d.

I just got this today and I can’t adjust the brightness at all. The f9 button doesn’t work and there’s no brightness option anywhere in the control panel or power options? Does this thing not allow you to adjust the brightness of the monitor?

I found this Q&A on the HP site. Maybe it will help.

Thanks. I tried these things and other suggestions I’ve found on the internet and nothing works. Can I return the laptop for this? It’s a pretty big deal to me.
