CPU Benchmark

Time to learn all about the processor

Does this have Word on it?

Generally, refurbed units don’t come with software. This has Win7 Pro, but you’d need to separately pick up an Office key.

Is it just me, or is this a pretty smokin’ deal? I know it’s “just a dual-core”, but it should be just fine for running Win 7 and basic use.

Edit: I noticed the processor is rated significantly higher on PassMark than the AMD A10 in the 17" Pavilion for $439 with lesser resolution.

This is a very nice workstation – using one now. Tho this model has an i5 instead of i7, it’s pretty speedy, has lots of room for expansion, and has an excellent screen.

The elitebook series has been a worthy successor to my long string of thinkpads, especially in terms of build quality, and the palatial keyboard+pad+pointer. I’d be tempted if I didn’t already have one.

Decent processor, great screen, workstation durability, discreet graphics, good sound, 7200rpm hard drive, and only 350 bucks? Yeah, this is a pretty smokin deal.

Only question I have is about the webcam - site says it doesn’t have one, but the picture says it does. Laptops seldom come without a cam these days… my mp3 player has a camera on it.

Was just about ready to pull the trigger when I noticed it had no HDMI, that killed it for me. :frowning:

Back-lit keyboard and big battery, very nice.

Display port converts to HDCP capable HDMI via a cable adapter. Just search “Displayport to HDMI adapter”. They seem to be around $12 on Amazon. I’m pretty sure with the deal you have here, you could spring for the adapter.

I detest adapters.

I’ve had hdmi ports in my last 3 laptops. In the last 5 years, I’ve used it exactly twice (and both times it was a pain in the ass). This has a great screen. If you want to see it bigger, get a chromecast. They are like 20 bucks.

And yes, big battery is a huge plus.

Description says “Bluetooth”

Specs say “Bluetooth: No”

Anybody know if there is a bluray drive available for this?

The expresscard expansion options seem to be underwhelming, but available if needed.

[MOD: Sorry, no BT. Sale is fixed.]

Funny. Specs say Bluetooth, no Bluetooth… Fingerprint reader, no fingerprint reader… No webcam, webcam in pic. Confusing

[MOD: Sorry, no BT. Sale is fixed. Pics are generic model. No Fingerprint reader or webcam.]

Its a stock photo. I would go by the specs listed, this model was available without those options.

Bluetooth is easily added. Fingerprint and webcam are pretty tough to get to. It can be done though.

This laptop will also support an i7-2630qm.

This is an outstanding deal. Mine has been a tank.

I’ve been looking for a laptop for my son that will play Minecraft (he is only 11). With the dedicated graphics card, will this do it?

You can buy a display port to HDMI cable for about $7 (6ft). You don’t lose anything on quality of signal, including audio.

Minecraft doesn’t require discreet graphics card. This laptop has a discreet graphics card and will EASILY play minecraft. This is a great deal!
