1 dimm or 2 dimm?
According to Cnet, 1.
It is a quad core atom based processor. Not a bad performer for an atom processor, especially for a 7.5 Watt processor. A dual core I3 would tear this up though.
What do you guys think about this for a commuter college student? Decent enough processor?
Depends on what you want to do with it…
Engineering major probably not good enough.
Just want to check email and use an office suite etc. Should be just fine.
If they want to game on it you can almost forget about it.
Thank you!
I got all excited when I saw this. A 15" laptop with a separate numeric keyboard, Quad-core, decent speed and upgradable to 8gigs.
Then… the reality set in.
You can upgrade to 8 gigs of RAM, but there’s only one slot and it is buried deeeeep inside the chassis so you have to take apart the whole machine.
Then, there is the question of whether or not it’s really a quad-core or a dual core running 4 threads.
Then I noticed it’s a refurb. Not so bad really but given that I’d have to take apart everything to upgrade the RAM that gives me a bit of pause.
… however… it is a very sexy Red.
Still… I think this is a pass.
What about Minecraft? Can you play minecraft on this?
