Windows but S mode version.
S Mode is simple to switch out of, and the switch to Windows Home is free to do.
My concerns with this laptop are a slow processor and low disk space. 4G RAM is also a concern, but if someone was just going to use it for email and web surfing, and didn’t need to install much software, it’s an okay computer. Maybe worth $100 imo, not $200, as you can get a much more capable laptop than this as a refurb on Amazon and elsewhere. Sure, a refurb at that price range won’t run Windows 11, but until October 2025, who cares? Windows 11 is a useless upgrade (again, imo) whose only redeeming value seems to be the pay that the programmers were given to make pointless and confusing UI changes. Employment, yay! Value, boo!
Your bigger concern should be the 1366 x 768 resolution on a 15.6" display at only 220 nits. Horrible!
Yeah it’s easy enough to upgrade that to regular windows but I’m sure a lot of people that are looking at a computer like this probably won’t care either way.
This is the kind of computer I might buy for my senior citizen mother who just uses her computer once a month to pay bills.
She’s not downloading any apps so doesn’t really matter if she’s just limited to the Microsoft store
I feel like my Gameboy in the back seat at night lit only by streetlights had a better screen than this thing.
