E waste special!
sorry but 4 gigs of ram windows in S mode, perhaps a fair price BUT then refurbished on top of that.
STAY AWAY.
S mode is the least of its problems (you can change it to regular Windows) but yeah, everything else is a red flag, including the insufficient RAM. The CPU is pretty mediocre, the storage is basically the bare minimum, the display is terrible (large, but low resolution, low brightness and color accuracy) and it’s a huge laptop but only has a 41 Wh battery. The price is low, but this isn’t what I’d want to use as my daily driver.
I do have to point out, for only $250 this has a backlit keyboard unlike the $600 Macbook Neo…
But you haven’t even mentioned the other great aspects!
- 128GB UFS (Universal Flash Storage), which means it’s most likely soldered on board. At least it’s faster than eMMC!
- Who needs 1080 resolution? 900 lines resolution means every pixel is larger!
- 60% NTSC color accuracy? Don’t blame the poor picture taking on yourself; blame your laptop instead!
Putting my sarcasm aside, I have no idea if the RAM is upgradeable. Windows S-mode doesn’t really reduce W11’s inherent need for resources, so that 4GB is going to be a huge bottleneck. While I won’t go so far to say it’s instant e-waste, I will say the experience will be mediocre at best – and W11 laptops like this are perhaps the best advertisement for the MacBook Neo.
(Note that I am not staff. I just volunteer to help out on the forums.)
Whew. I’m generally pretty impressed with the deals I see on woot. Even if something isn’t up my alley, I know there’s something for everyone.
But this one belongs in a landfill for all the reasons mentioned above. That price is too much even if the laptop was new. For a refurb it shouldn’t be over $100. C’mon woot you guys are much better than this.
Man those are some bad specs. I feel like we should paid for taking one of these.

Oh wow, did I find a deal for you!
This would be OK if you put Chromeosflex or Linux on it like Edubuntu. But for running anything under Windows, STAY AWAY! It will be very very sluggish if you take it out of S mode. And in S mode you can’t really do much anyway.
At least it has a backlit keyboard though. I bought a similar ASUS laptop on here for about half the price of this one, and the lack of a backlit keyboard is a problem.
Another laptop that should have been a Chromebook
on the one hand this laptop’s specs are pathetic.
on the other hand it is made by a trash company.
hmmm,
gonna have to think this one over.
HP = Heap of Poo in my office.
