CPU Benchmarks

Time to learn all about the processor

Hahahaha. This is a joke right?

Why bother with all these specs. Just say, it’s a really cheap computer made out of stuff from five years ago.

but will it run Skyrim?

that’s really the only thing that matters. :stuck_out_tongue:

I know nothing about laptops and wanted to buy one for my own personal use. Is this a good deal or totally out of date? Thanks

From the review I just read, its a pretty much an ok laptop. But I would pass. So many better options for a couple hundred bucks more out there.

A couple hundred bucks more? This this is only a couple hundred bucks!

Bottom line. Is this laptop worth it for someone who only surf the web and burns cds? Or is it better to spend the extra $80 and get one of the others entry level laptops Ive seen here?

I would recommend this for about $35 more. It’s a 1st gen I5 which is way better than this P6200 in the woot laptop. It’s an elitebook meaning that the hardware is pretty sturdy on it.

Buy a Chromebook (based on what you said you need the computer for). My Chromebook 11 inch works better than my Mac Book Air 13 inch for 90% of what I use a computer for.

How’s he going to burn cds on a Chromebook? I don’t even think you could do this using an external drive with a chromebook. That was one of the things he wanted to do with the laptop.

It’s fine for $199. It will not be a speed demon or have the best of anything in particular (but at least it has Gigabit Ethernet), but at that price point, it’s perfectly fine for what you have mentioned above.

Ok- here is a much better laptop- for $35 more. The passmark of today’s woot is 1347. The Lenovo below has a passmark of 3557. Almost 3 times the performance, the graphics is better also on the Lenovo.

Refurbished: Lenovo Thinkpad L420 Notebook - Intel Core i5-2520M 2.5Ghz - 4GB Ram - 160GB Hard Drive - 14" - DVD RW - Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit

I’d buy this laptop if I didn’t already have this one:

My 14-inch is fine but I’d prefer 15.6 at a cheaper price with more hard drive space. I think $200 is a decent gamble for this laptop.

Although I had been looking for an i5 when I got mine. Here’s a comparison between this computer’s processor and mine:

Is this a pre-owned laptop or manufacturer refurbished?
