This is a decent deal if you just need a light duty computer. I see lots of these come out of commercial lease and go back out with very little refurbishment for more.
A valid Win7pro license still costs more than this computer WITH ONE.
Win 7 will walk pretty fast with 4GB, but you need 6GB to get it to “run”. But still, a good deal.
I got one of these for the same price a few weeks ago on Woot for my daughters to use. It was perfect, runs several web based games and other sites even with several tabs open at once.
These are pretty decent machines. You can bump up the PS, get a better video card, and add 4GB RAM then it will run most games. Seems as long as you maintain some discipline while websurfing, these truck on forever. Plus, like someone already mentioned, a W7 license costs more than the computer!
I got one last time it was up for $89.99 (I think)and have had random shutdowns and the product key doesn’t work for Windows. I emailed Woot, and they passed me off to AST Systems. I emailed them and got no response. Terrible customer support on this so far. The mouse also was broken when it arrived. I know, you get what you pay for. But I would appreciate some help in at least getting the machine to work properly with an authentic version of Windows.
I pulled the trigger on one of these with the idea of increasing the RAM and installing an SSD. Can anyone tell me what RAM I need to get, and how to transfer the OS to the SSD w/o getting too technical? I don’t know very much about working on these.
Product page seems to show 7200rpm, not 5400 as on woot. And no disk burner here? Not skilled at deciphering this. Help! My old Vista machine is the gateway/router connection to AT&T Internet, and it needs to be replaced as economically as possible. Thanks
