I think someone needs to round up all of the people from HP responsible for labeling this “Elite” and make them sit through an 8 hour Power Point presentation on the definition of “Elite”.

I own one. Works great! Actually going to buy another they are such a great deal and are so fast.

For refurbished computers, like this, is the hard drive replaced, or does it come with just the reformatted original drive?

We don’t have any insight into what the refurbs were done for.

If its not a new hard drive, Its taking a quite a chance that the original hard drive doesn’t have a defect like bad sectors, even though its working now.

Drop in an inexpensive solid state drive and this computer should do very well. I have a Dell with the same specs and only 12GB of RAM and I put in a 500GB SSD - now it screams. Boots up in seconds and barely any delays or waiting for anything. The prices of SSDs are dropping, with 480-500GB drives running for around $120 or less if you search.

Since this is an older machine, you don’t really need a SSD that is super-fast; just something on the end of average speed will be an impressive boost in speed.
