HP 8200 Elite Intel i7 2TB SFF Desktop

Hey Woot - are these machines the same rash of refurbs that recently hit Amazon from a company called Klamp? (eg this one looks a lot like https://www.amazon.com/HP-Elite-8200-SFF-Desktop/dp/B01HSHTCA6/ ) I don’t mind refurbs that are new machines that were returned to HP and checked/fixed but reading some of the comments on the various Klamp offerings I get the impression these are refurbed/used rather than refurbed/new returns. There’s certainly more complaints than I would expect to see from, say, HP about the quality of the refurbs. And if it is Klamp then they’re cheaper direct from Amazon - what’s up with that?

If these refurbs are straight from HP themselves, I’m in for one.

This is refurbished:

  • “Refurbished” covers everything from buyers’ remorse returns and products whose defects have been repaired by the pros to damaged packaging and discontinued items. If you can accept their checkered past, refurbs have a lot of love to give. *

What you’re talking about is what we call “Factory Reconditioned”: *A “factory reconditioned” item was returned, inspected, and restored to fully working condition by the original manufacturer or a certified partner. And the original manufacturer stands behind it with a warranty. It’s as close to new as you can get without technically being “new”. *

That’s the kind of answer politicians call a ‘pivot’ - answering a different question or something tangential to what was asked. So I infer from the lack of a direct answer that these are indeed from Klamp, or at the least, not refurbed by HP themselves. So not for me, sorry. Fortunately Black Friday is just days way, so this week was an ideal time for my Windows PC to have died and need replacement. Lots of options.

We do not purchase from Klamp. Don’t even know who they are. You can see who did the work in the warranty link.

Damn, I wish I had seen your reply before they sold out. Metro are OK, I would have bought this :-/
