Just a guess: I have a bunch of the DC7900s at work and they are very heavily built business grade desktops (though newer models than this one.) The other one, even though it says “business”, looks much more plastic-y and flimsy by comparison.
You can see by the dimensions that the DC7900 is much, much bigger even though they claim to be the same form factor.
On an unrelated note, unless you really, really needed a few extra USB ports and had a religious objection to buying a USB hub, I have no idea why anyone would choose the AMD unit for the same money.
Wussier power supply, crappier processor, no DVD drive.
Edit: I see in the drop down that they aren’t actually the same form factor
The DC7900 has expansion slots (and only two fewer USB slots – not that many people need more than six, I’d guess). So unless your primary concern is size, I completely agree: the DC7900 is the better deal.
There are far better systems to be had for not much more money. I’m surprised these are priced above $80 (and I wouldn’t pay more than $60 for them). I just replaced my last E8400 with a Core i5 and I’m glad to see it gone.
Interesting. I was comparing i5 to this core2 on different sites and found them to be comparable in performance. My i5 is in a thinkpad and I was contemplating going to this desktop
I recently bought one, and I can’t activate Windows. It says the product Key was already used on another device. I have never had this issue before with Woot, and I can’t afford a product key. Please help, who should I talk to?
