I have the 810 G2, basically the Haswell version of the same machine. Excellent computer. My wife liked it so much she bought one for herself to retire her HP Spectre 13, which had a nice HD touch screen, but as a laptop, the touch screen was rarely used with a keyboard rackpad always in front of it.
For $550 the G1 isn’t a bad deal. The only real difference between the G2 is slightly better battery life and graphics performance.
It’s also important to point out, as the name implies, that this machine is MIL-STD-810G compliant. It’s virtually indestructible. There is a Youtube video of it being run over by a car. And one of the amazing takeaway’s about this machine: everything is easily servicable. Even the battery is removable. I installed 12GB RAM and a 480GB SSD in mine. One other recommendation is a docking station. They’re $100 or so, but well worth it simply for the ease of drop-in charging.
Like a previous poster, I too have a revolve 810 G2. I too upgraded to 12GB ram (disappointed that 4gb were soldered in, as my 2710p didn’t have that “feature”). I also put in a bigger SSD.
I am very, very happy with my G2. I was also very very happy with my 2710P (the great-great-grandpa to the revolve series). I had my 2710p for six years before I upgraded to the Revolve G2 in October.
It’s the HP EliteBook 810-G1 Revolve Convertible Notebook.
We can’t be more specific than that. A batch of factory reconditioned computers may have various models but they are all brought up to the specs noted on our specs tab.
