Servicing Guide

I bought a similar HP Laptop a while back for less than this, and it had a touchscreen, Core i7, 12 GB RAM, and a 1 TB HDD…For this price, these days, I expect more…

This has 16GB RAM and a 1TB hdd. It also has windows 8.1 pro. Which i7 does yours have? Does the screen look as good? Does yours have better graphics or connectivity? Link?

check out this “good” review over at pcmag.com

Yes specific processor is needed for comparison. Touch screen is good for win 8 but often have less than HD resolution. Also while I don’t love win 8 Win 8.1 pro is best. RAM is important especially if you can’t upgrade. I hesitate on 90 day warranty computers but other than integrated graphics seems pretty decent. I don’t care too much about HDD as I have a large SSD I will transfer when I get a new laptop.

Does this model have the smart-touch screen??

Good morning. It does not have a touch screen.

CPU Benchmark

Do does this model have the nvidia graphics or just the intel. I see models with one or the other. I’m interested if it does, not so much if not.

I’ve been in the market for a 17" 1080P laptop with an i7 and at least 8GB RAM. I was all set to buy until I saw the atrocity that is a 1x1 antenna Wireless N NIC. I mean come on.

Make it at least a 2x2 5Ghz and I’ll be content and overlook it weighs almost 8 lbs.

If you plan to use ethernet on a desk well then great. It’s a pretty good buy. If you live in a cluttered 2.4 Ghz apartment area this will be next to useless network wise and likely heavily spotty.

Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4600

According to CPU Benchmark, this isn’t any ordinary core i7. With a rating of 7,928… You won’t need any other CPU for a long while. The graphics could get upgraded a bit, but the CPU alone is around $400 to buy.

The graphics card is in the high-mid range (meaning you can play most games on medium+ settings). This is a GREAT computer for those gamers out there… just don’t expect a godly GPU. WELL WORTH the money here guys!

EDIT: So the RAM is 16GB (all you will ever need in this generation. You just need 8GB and you’re fine, but this is over-the-top)

Does it have backlit keyboard?

If this had a touchscreen, I’m there. I’m looking to replace my old laptop. I use Visual Studio and occasionally run test VMs, so I need 16GB. But if I’m buying something with Windows 8, I .really. want a touch screen. So that’s what I’m holding out for to replace my laptop. I7. 16 GB. Touchscreen.

No, it does not. We will note that on the specs if it does. Hope that helps.

All I am looking for is a laptop that can play Dota 2 and seemlessly stream Netflix/Hulu. Is this a good buy? I am looking to spend as little as possible, so is this overkill?

Is the Keyboard Backlit?
