HP Envy 27-B110 AIO Touchscreen i7 16GB 1TB

HP Envy 27-B110 AIO Touchscreen i7 16GB 1TB

Positive: Beautiful PC in so, so many ways: high-res screen with touch, b) fast processor, c) big HD, d) nice sound, e) decent RAM, f) graphic co-processor, g) presence of a small SSD.

Negative: Tons of defects.

  1. Defect: Half the screen fuzzed out/ pixelated before even getting to install Windows.
(Note: Sometimes OK, sometimes not, which is why I stuck with it.) Hours wasted, not fixed.
  2. Defective keyboard and mouse - and yes, I tried them on another computer.
  3. No sound or microphone after Windows update. Eventually fixed after hours wasted.
  4. Stupid HP decision to have function keys reversed.
  5. Stupid choice by ignorant refurbisher who put the operating system on the 1 TB mechanical hard drive instead of on the intended, faster solid-state drive (SSD)! So, almost no benefit to having the SSD at all!
  6. In turn, system is so screwy that it did not even allow me to do a factory reset before returning it.
  7. Related minor issues about things that may be missing.
  8. Ridiculous 30-day warranty, as though to trick you into buying and then getting stuck with it by virtue of not getting it returned within this tiny window of time.

Resolution: After getting my personal information off somehow, I am returning it and I vow never, ever to buy computers or electronics from Woot. Sorry, Woot, I am not going to leave you completely, but this is so unforgivable I have to stay away from your electronics and computers. Maybe in a few years, if things change, I may forgive, but you would have to earn forgiveness.

P.S. In fairness, I note that Woot has given me a return authorization and customer service at least tried to work with me, short of actually trying to fix the damn thing. Woot needs to find a better refurbisher who actually tests products before just sending them out. Or, it could be HP that’s to blame. Not sure which.

Hi there. The 30-day warranty is for our open box items. Feel free to reach out to Woot Customer Service. From a browser, use the Woot Customer Service form. In the Woot App, choose Account from the bottom navigation and then Support.
