Lots of great reviews at Best Buy

Product Page with Reviews

Hey Wooter’s !

Check this info(cut & paste) from Consumer Reports…I think I’ll pass on this one!

TONS and TONS of very good reviews (4.4 out of 5.0) over at Staples.com

Can someone please explain to me how some “wooters” have between 2505 and 5075 (FIVE THOUSAND!) quality posts, seem to appear on almost every woot category page, and seem to give primarily positive feedback are not considered shills for the website?

I would GUESS that MOST wooters have less than 100 quality posts on average.

A person engaged in covert advertising. The shill attempts to spread buzz by personally endorsing the product in public forums with the pretense of sincerity, when in fact he is being paid for his services.

I mean, I’m just asking??

Do NOT buy this from WOOT! When you get it, it will not work!

[mod note: we’ll be reaching out to you to see what happened!]

Reach all you want, your merchandise is garbage.

We bought this on Woot about a month ago and it works great. Excellent two-sided copies and the wifi/Bluetooth works perfectly. I have no complaints. We’ve paid lots more for printers in the past that did not work nearly as well. The only negative is the cartridges which were included were worthless but that’s no big deal. Bought new ones and it made clear copies.

Not sure what the deal is with this printer…bought last Novenber from Woot…quality of print jobs is great, but it goes offline daily and needs to be reset. Never had issues with wireless printer like this one.

Purchased one of these from Woot last week. Works great but smells like smoke really bad. Its been airing out in my garage since Monday.

Try putting it outside in the sunshine for a day. That usually speeds along the process of removing smoke smells.

My HP4500 printer does the same thing.

I bought mine brand new direct from HP. I keep thinking that I can figure out a solution, but have not been successful so far.

I need a printer. This looks OK. $39.99 for the refurb, or $59.99 for the new at Best Buy? Thoughts?

Anybody try to print 5x7 pictures with this? I need a printer that can do pictures very well.

I’ve had this printer for just over a month now. It replaced another HP printer. Setup was easy. Print speed is about the same. It can do duplex, but I haven’t tried that out yet. I like the paper feed on the bottom instead of the back, although the capacity seems smaller. Scanning seemed a little bit quieter compared to the older printer.

You generally get what you pay for but I’ve never had an issue getting refurbed products from woot.

I bought this at walmart, for the price you cant go wrong… the thing that really sold me was the cost of replacement ink, its like $20 a cartridge.
The wireless works great if you can run it with a WPS button; if your router/modem doesn’t have that option, i’d suggest clearing out a spot next to the computer you’d like to print from, because no matter what you do it will not accept any variant of WiFi you type in unless you do it through the WPS button (I spent around an hour and a half trying every combo of security type my router had except open and i couldn’t get it)

Seems like a decent inkjet… but my advice is to not buy ANY inkjet. Shell out the extra money up front and get yourself a decent laser printer. A typical inkjet gets fewer than 200 pages per ink cartridge. Plus, if you don’t use the printer regularly, the ink can dry up or clog the nozzle head. Inkjet cartridges usually for $15 to $30 depending on brand/size.

Laser printers, while initially more expensive (good ones go for around $300) will most likely save you money in the long run. A typical laser toner cartridge will yield 1400 or more pages and they do not dry out or get clogged. I’ve had the same toner cartridge for three years and have had no issues. However, humidity and temperature extremes may cause issues. A typical yield cartridge with 1400 pages costs around $75-80, an XL cartridge provides 2100 or more for closer to $100.

Laserjet: 1 cartridge, 1400 pages, $80

Inkjet: 7 cartridges, 1400 pages, $140

Inkjets could cost more if they dry out prematurely.

One final thought: if your looking at printing photos, inkjets may actually give you a better print.

I got this off of woot. It has everything I needed.

Scanning multiple papers is a bit annoying, but that hasn’t come up that often.

Really easy to set up. I haven’t had the network issues that others have described.

For the price it offers a good mix of features and works well.
