I bought an refurb Omen on Woot! at the end 2015. To my surprise, an HP window opened up on my Omen with an offer to buy HP’s extended warranty, which was 2 years, if I remember. The warranty wasn’t too expensive, as I recall. Less than what Apple Care typically costs.

Anyway, I love my Omen. Fun laptop.

Beware, the last time I ordered this it was missing the SSD. Got a $75 refund. And took out a extended warranty with it. :slight_smile:

Touchscreen? No, huh? And what is the maximum RAM this bad boy takes? Further, why is it that IPS displays are promoted as if they’re better, because it is my understanding that they are worse than other LED displays (probably not as noticeable, if at all, on such small screens)?

Likely 32GB. IPS and LED can be in the same screen. Do more research. This isn’t a great buy. Not even the good GPU or screeen.

Additional info regarding the Omen warranty. I just got an email from HP offering to extend the 2-year warranty on my Omen refurb for additional year. It seems HP is more than happy to offer extended warranties of refurbs, just as long as you willing to pay.

I also have a refurb omen and bought an extended warranty. Bought when they were offering 40% off. They also have a potential rebate on the three year warranties where if you don’t use it then you can get back all you paid for it at the end.
