I’ve been looking to start building a PC along these specs. Should I be put off at all about the Factory Reconditioned label?
My personal experience with HP refurbs has been 100% satisfaction. My dad got a dud laptop from Amazon, once, but that was quickly resolved by returning it under Amazon’s return policy. WOOT’s return policy varies, so if you get a out of the box dud, they will likely accept it under their return policy. If it dies within 90-days of purchase, you deal with HP, which luckily I haven’t had to do with any of my HP refurb computers (4).
My concern is with the 500 watt Bronze PSU… It’ll get the job done, but barely, IMO. I’d upgrade to at least a 700+ watt Gold if you’re actually going to do any gaming or video editing. Some video editors use the graphics card to process video, which this card will do like a boss.
That brings me to another point, the video card is worth $699 of this build…
If you decide to purchase, I’d push it to it’s limit for the first 90-days to see if it’s going to hold up for the long haul.
