Yet another WOOT!

You could probably use this in the bathroom. It’s way too big to fit in the toilet, unlike the Sont Clié model PEG-TH55

Anyone know the video specs for this unit?

Also, it looks like it does not include built-in wireless. Am I missing something or is that in fact the case?

Thanks!

-Danimal (wishing he had bought one of the earlier 17" models. sigh) 8)

Maybe they’ll keep on stripping it down until it’s a P-P-P POWERBOOK!!!

Did a truck full of laptops berak down outside Woot’s building or what? I have been in meetings all day… someone fill me in on this laptop-topia.

So before the questions begin, here are the answers:

Video cards on this one range from ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 IGP to ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 128 MB VRAM.

Most have 802.11g, a couple have 802.11b, but a couple do not have wireless built in at all - which is why wireless is not listed in the description.

Several have the WXGA+ screens and DVDRW but once again - those are the exception, not the rule.

Also, part numbers from HP range from DP735AVR to DP740AVR.

BigD: thanks for the info!

So if I understand you correctly, if I buy one of these, it may have wireless, but it also may not. Right?

So, how is it decided which order gets what features? Does the first person to order get the best, and the last to order get the worst? Or is it just random.

Sorry I’m a newbie to this whole thing. :frowning:

Looks like the ZV5000 and maybe the Compaq R3000 series for those part number

Sorry I’m a newbie to this whole thing. :([/quote]Random. Which is why they list them with the minimum spec, and if you get something nicer, it’s a bonus. Count on getting what’s listed, and only that. You may be pleasantly surprised, or you may get exactly what you ordered.

Go read the first thread of the day for more details on this woot-off.

What’s listed under more information is the minimum specs. You WILL get all those things but there is a completely random possibility you will get more, like the wireless or a DVD-RW that aren’t listed. You can’t get less than what is listed on the specs page though.

#18

Actually, if I had the money, I’d get a laptop. But I’m poor. Won’t you help? Please send all donations to me@mypoorghetohouse.org. For $10 a day, less than the cost of a gravis gamepad set, you can keep this poor wooter wooting happily for a whole month. And remember, please don’t let your children use woot. Thank you.

#19

That is correct. Most do have wireless, but these are shipped from a pallet in random order and there is no guarantee that yours will have wireless.

There’s no order to it. We receive them from HP with an overpack box on them so unless we remove them from the overpack, there is no way to tell which one has the best features.
