Time to learn all about the processor from the manufactuer and techradar.com

could this play something like skyrim on medium or low setting?

The answer is “maybe”. I have a Pavilion quad core with A6 and experience no problems with disk games (mostly flight sims). Mine overheats while playing some games on Steam. The gc is a Radeon 7520G.
It also depends on how many unnecessary processes are running.

Used? How long or heavily?

A 15.6" Netbook.

You’re mistaken !

I have the slightly older, Windows 7 version of this computer. If you wanted to play games on it, like Skyrim, you’ll probably have to make some changes.

I bought an A-10 chip for $50 and put it in myself (kind of hard - instructions on YouTube), and maxed out the RAM (easy) for a much better machine.

do these look new when you get it? being a refurb i would like to know if it will be as a new one would be appearance wise.

It can vary from unit to unit. Some may have a few scratches or something.

A “factory reconditioned” item was returned, inspected, and restored to fully working condition by the original manufacturer or a certified partner. And the original manufacturer stands behind it with a warranty. It’s as close to new as you can get without technically being “new”.

Or a laptop with a couple of bad screen areas about an 1/8" diameter (MANY pixels) that are white and a third party case that is flimsy. (previous WOOT Lenovo sale). Not that close to “new”.

Tell me more! I’d like to hear specifically about where you got an A10 mobile processor - I haven’t had any luck finding them by themselves.

RAM and CPU play a part in game performance, up to a point. For best results, what you want is a dedicated graphics card and chassis designed for proper ventilation.

For any laptop under gaming load, I suggest picking up a raised pad. It doesn’t need to have USB-powered fans necessarily, rather it just needs some exposed channels for increased airflow.

Either Amazon or Ebay, I don’t recall. Once I had the exact compatible chipset item number, a simple Google search found one.

*Here is one I bought, and I think it’s the one for the laptop, though I do NOT know if it would fit THIS laptop. Consult someone smarter than me
