I’m not sure I’d want a 17 inch laptop with resolution below 1080p…

For what it is worth, I have a smaller version of this model and it has worked well, survived a drop and allows me to edit audio.

However, I FORGET to use the touch screen, which is really silly.

Maintenance and Service Guide Pavilion 17-F023CL

What kind of audio editing do you do? I’m looking for a computer for general use but also specifically for audio editing purposes. I mostly use Ableton with Reason, but do very infrequently use Pro Tools LE. Which I imagine would not work on this one…

I had to return a win 8 laptop refurb because it did not come w/an activation key. How does woot handle this issue? I was told to contact HP for warranty coverage right out of the box!

HP carries the warranty for the product.

If you find that they’re unable to assist you in finding a resolve, please email into support@woot.com and let them know. They’ll be able to help answer any questions or concerns you have about your purchase.

A product that needs warranty coverage immediately is defective! You should tell buyers this: win 8 activation key not provided. This is probably true of all windows refurbished PCs and laptops.

Does this have a Firewire port? I don’t see it in the specs, but there’s a ton of little ports visible in the images…

wish I had another day, I really want this but I’d like to run it by my son who isn’t available till then. Darn.

My “old” Pavilion AMD-8 has a Blu-Ray player and six-cell battery. My fiancee’s new I7 Intel 17.3" touchscreen HP Envy doesn’t have a fingerprint scanner. Ours stay unplugged for a week at a time and mine still has 20% left. I will pass on this one even though the price is right.
