HPs make solid laptops, but their desktops seem to get mixed reviews. The downside I’ve personally found with the desktops is that they have a tendency to be quite loud. Some reviews about HP desktops in general that might help…

Real good reviews on CNET…
Windows Vista Home Premium with Windows Media Center
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4 GHz Processor
1066MHz Front Side Bus and dual 4 MB L2 caches
this is a good chip, we install them all the time.
runs nice and cool
It’s actually tempting… I love HP… but $700 for a refurb just seems like a lot for a refurb these days.
these must be their server computers. They are selling them off to buy macs
This puts my computer to shame… What application is a Quadcore system good for anyway?
Yeah… looked like the servers were showing the new woot a bit slower tonight.
That’s a bamf computer. Maxed out, I would get it but I jsut maxed out my current comp for gaming. an 8gb ram capacity is amazing! and the 8400 is a high quality card. Get this if you’re looking for a new computer.
I own a 9000 series and you have to be careful about power, if you add any stuff to it, the thing will bog down from lack of power.
If they ever get a better graphics card in one of these, I might buy it. This thing won’t run Call of Duty 4.
apparently Woot needs to save some of these for use in-house!
I’ve had one of these and they run better and are more reliable than the W00t Servers!!
I NO WANT!.. Trash… Garbage… Bad Woot…
Recovery discs not included. HP recommends you use HP Recovery Manager,
Geez… Good night all.
Yes, i have this comp, the only thing i had to do with it was up grade the graphics card from the 8500 to a 9600gt, it works great
the down side… vista, though i am getting use to it i still prefer XP
The Intel Q6600 processor is great. This computer should haul. Gaming won’t be half bad either with the GeForce 8400 although some may wish to upgrade. Not a bad price at all for what you get.
"3gb of PC2-5300 RAM (4 Slots 2×1GB, 2×512MB); Expandable to 8GB on 64-bit OS, 4GB on 32-bit "
32-bit OSes can’t access more than 3 GB of RAM, so dat ain’t right.
