Decent computer. This is great for hooking up to your television and using as a media machine. Moderately good for games.

Appears to be a little bigger hard drive than the one offered the other day, otherwise it’s the same.

Good reviews on Amazon ($718 + $27 shipping there):

$834.99 on Overstock. I’d buy one if i didnt just lose a ton of $$$ betting on the Colts to beat the Chargers. oh well, hopefully my Vikings can pull off the upset tomorrow!

Hmmm… 83/100 on Alatest and NOT a refurbie. Rad.

Media Center ?? what good is the software without the TV Tuner Card and the IR Blaster and remote control??

Sorry gotta pass on this one

Almost…No TV tuner card either

and no free PCI slot to put one in

Needs better GPU,

Hp seems… sub-par from experience…

Ahh. I missed that.

I believe the tuner in the other one was a PCIe 1x slot. At least that is what is in my HP Media Center PC.

FWIW, the PCI slot is used by the modem. If you have broadband you’ll want to yank that out anyway.

Is this that AMD CPU that has the A stepping error?

My Pinnacle HD USB one seems to do OK

I’d be all over this if it had a 512 card and was $550 instead of $500 or something.

What century did this come from? 56k modem? 10/100 Ethernet? PS/2 keyboard and mouse?

On the other hand, nVidia’s paranoia about their intellectual property makes me paranoid about buying their GPUs, CUDA notwithstanding.

Media Center comes with Windows Vista Home Premium. Are we sure that there is no TV tuner on this? The manuals all seem to think that it does.

Doesn’t look like there is a TV tuner. Circuit City is selling the Hauppauge USB Win TVR HVR-850 tuner for $50 starting today, at least in the local ads. Others are available fairly cheaply these days. Not a deal breaker.

Just curious, what speed modem do you use? And what use is Gigabit ethernet when all you do is use the ethernet to connect to the internet?

BTW, having switched to USB keyboard and mouse, I find the main issue I have is how long it takes to recover use of the mouse and keyboard after the system goes to sleep. With PS2 connectors, I have instant use, with USB, I have to wait. Minor problem, but I miss having the two extra available USB ports. Only have 6 on my PC.
