enough with the PCs with AMD CPUs. through us some Core 2 Duo once in a while.

Why would you get this giant clunky thing when you could’ve gotten the slimline a few weeks ago? The only reason I see s the ease of upgrading, but still…

65/100 via AlaTest reviews doesn’t leave me pining for it. But the price is certainly nice…

Read what comes in the “Box” what’s missing?

4200 speed RAM…very slow. also, more expensive to upgrade. should check if mobo supports faster RAM (5400, etc.)

well for that price, it would be nice to add a computer in the box!

I wonder… how this computer would run with a 16 camera security system card?

It doesn’t look like the remote control is included in this deal. I’m so dam lazy I can’t get up off the couch to turn stuff on and off sometimes. This could be a deal killer for lazy folk like me. If you are in shape it isn’t a big deal. OTHO It seems to suppport DDR2 PC2-5300

This deal should include the remote control. I bought the same product a month to 2 months ago and it shipped complete with all the shown parts.

OTOH, I just had delivered to me yesterday a Cybertronics core 2 duo 3.0 ghz gaming computer, with a GeForce 8500 GT videocard, for less than $700 shipped UPS 3day. (with $3 rush processing).

Reviews are mixed, but mine worked right out of the box and I like how it works. It’s not a media center PC, so the comparison is off, but mine is new. a TV Tuner card (if perferred), can be had for less than $50.

Check the stats, I think it’s well worth the extra $250.

Buy.com has a disclaimer: “In Stock Soon”

B&H gives me a dead link: " Sorry, no items were found matching your search request for “HEA6230N*”. Please see the search tips below or you may want to try a new search."

Amazon’s link works, but the description scares me: “Used-Very Good”.
Plus, Amazon only has 2 in stock.

Also, Buy.com is recertified, dead link on B&H and Amazons is used, for similar pricing.

(Oh, and woots deal is also refurbed).

Who buys Desktop PCs anymore?

My situation may be unique, but I bought the 8200 refurb and it’s slower than you would expect. It has only got vga out, and has never really played video well - even off of it’s own HD. It seems to skip a lot, playing choppy audio for no reason at all. I’m about to do a total restore, but it’s always done this. I should have returned it when I first bought it.

Why is this still using PS/2 connectors for mouse and keyboard? The entire rest of the planet seems to have moved to USB years ago.

in for one, thanks yahoo, thanks woot

This is refurbed? I coulda guessed but I don’t see it on the front page…
