HP Pavilion P7 Quad-Core Desktop

Can you hook up two monitors?

You probably want to add a video card, it’s the weak spot (embedded graphics) but with 6 gb for normal surfing and casual gaming it’s perfect. For more intense gaming (FPS shooters etc) add a card. It’s ok for WOW as it is.

Yes

I can’t see why people are still harping on the touch pad. On another note, I have the box just up from this system the HP Pavlion HPE 1000z same unit with a X4 instead of an X2 and a better power supply and graphics card. With some very light modification, (around $200) this is a fantastic machine. Good build quality, and the warranty can be extended directly through hp for $75 for 2 years.

yes, it has both DVI and VGA hookups, although there is a very noticable drop in quality once you go to VGA.

Once you clean off the crapware that comes on here, it’s a pretty solid computer as long as you’re not looking for use it for online gaming.

No but DVI==> hdmi is cheap.

cheapest hp desktop i can find on bestbuy.com is 419 for 2 less CPU cores, 2 less gbs of ram and similar other specs. am i missing the $329 one? If so please link because i will buy it and the touchpad then.

There is a DVI and a VGA connector so it would appear to be possible.

Higher-end ATI cards do handle multiple monitors quite easily, and the drivers for a 4890 and a 4200 (like this computer has) are identical, so I believe multiple monitors would work.

That said, I don’t have actual experience with this computer or video card. I’m not a multiple-monitor type, I’d rather just have one BIGGER monitor.

Network card is 10/100, and not gigabit ether? No thanks.

I’m guessing you’ll get your computer with all four memory sockets full, two with 2GB sticks and two with 1GB sticks. The image is probably from a 4GB box.

This wouldn’t be a bad work computer. Especially for the price.

So is it a P7 or is it AMD? Title says one, description says the other…

lol… love how my $325 computer just turned into $700. I didn’t need to go with the SSD or the additional memory to play BF, but I like being in the game quick
This is what happens when you have the day off work and can’t sleep :frowning:

Battlefield 3, here I come!

Bolt it down???

I bet this machine can handle porn like nobody’s business.

Here are the comments from sell-out Woot when I purchased it…

Some good advice if you want to turn it in to a good gamer rig.

sadly it’s refurbished - gonna be a low risk gamble
