Does this have a PCI Express 3.0 slot to put a better graphics card in it?
65w external power supply? That sounds wrong for a desktop.
Apparently not
According to HP Product Page, it’s 65w: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c04453602
Also wondering about that 65 watt power supply. 300 would seem right. Need verification of power supply
Edit - I see spec now - still seems odd. Trigger finger is itching to pull.
I wondered about that also but other sources, such as Best Buy and HP itself, also state 65W external power supply for this model. No comprendo. I wanted to grab one of these at this price just for a spare, but I don’t understand a “65W external power supply”. Can anyone make sense of this to us non-professionals?
The A8 processor uses only 15 watts, so I think it’s possible.
If you look at the ports for the motherboad ( http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-c04439095 )it says DC in and looks like a laptop type connector.
Listing states 10/100/1000 network but HP specs only list 10/100 HP Pavilion 500-424 Desktop PC Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support
It’s a laptop in a desktop case…
I wish I could get a microchip implanted in my brans.
Raisen Brans?
A good affordable basic computer for someone who needs a good affordable basic computer…for life’s mundane tasks…!
My 7 yr old Dell just died - i used it mainly for surfing web and iTunes. Do you think this would be a decent replacement? I use my Mac for everything else.
No, HP has done this with many of their desktops. An organization that I do IT volunteer work for has a small number of similar vintage machines all with external power supplies at/about 65w.
Absolutely, and then dome. This machine will handle more than just surfing and the web.
should i get the warranty too? Woot warranty is 6 months. Even if it only lasted 7 months it would be like renting for 40 bucks a month until i get $$ saved for newer model. I am very close to pulling the trigger…
