It’s difficult to consider buying this when Woot doesn’t provide a picture of the back with all the ports…
Seems a bit misleading for the listing to have 3 USB-C ports listed, while stating there is only 1 on the front and not where the other two are located; as it does mention this for the other USB ports. Also, looking into product specs, this can only be specced with one USB-C on the front and optionally one on the rear; leaving the maximum amount at 2.
TLDR: Listing is incorrect that there are 3 type C ports, and it most likely just has the 1 on front only.
One the crappier “used” computer deals they’ve had on here. This is a 5 year old low powered I5 with no GPU(and no way to add). If you’re gonna buy a desktop without a GPU in a slim case, buy and AMD APU system and definitely don’t give amazon “new” money for “used” pcs.
Actually you can add and/or upgrade the GPU on these. I just don’t know if it would be worth it/
According to HP these units do not support GPU upgrades. The only internal slots are for wireless networking or storage.
The Core i5 8500T is roughly equivalent to the Core i3 9350K or an AMD Ryzen 5 1400 in overall performance.
even if there is an x16 slot in there, you would need a single slot low profile low power with little to no airflow needs and that 8500 T cannot have it’s power limit removed. I have an AIO Dell that has an 8700T in it and it’s barely useable to run videos and that’s cost me less than this and has touch screen.
These types of machines are best for office use or as a basic home computer for simpler tasks. Airflow and heat dispersal is always critical in these tiny machines so blowing out dust from the heat sink regularly and replacing the CPU’s thermal paste every year or two is highly recommended.
