The laptop has a flawless design. I could not expect HP to make anything less than that.

I purchased this exact same model when it was on sale on computers.woot on June 8th. I have been extremely happy so far!

Not to mention how beautiful it is with its ash and copper paint job. (In some lighting it looks more like espresso and copper).

Here are the comments from last sale:

I bought a month ago when it was on woot. It looked just like new – no blemish or scratch.

Looks like they might be trying to dump old stock. The new Spectre just came out recently.

That would explain the sudden rash of Spectre x360 posts on Woot lately

Well, these are, after all, ostensibly factory-reconditioned, not brand new. Not understanding why it would be considered “old stock” to be dumped.

Two different beasts. The HP Spectre isn’t a new HP Spectre x360, but a completely different design.

I don’t have as much of a problem with arcooke referring to this as old stock , after all , seems technology is outdated a month after it comes out ! BUT the price is still way too high , to me , to be considered '‘dumping’'it.

Have you seen the new one? They have all the ports on the back which I personally do not like because they are hard to access without constantly flipping your laptop around. The original design here is much better. I just purchased this unit a few weeks ago and like most folks are very impressed with it. Love the color. Love the QHD display and great battery life. I went to Best Buy just to see how it felt before pulling the trigger. They no longer have this color combination which is really striking. Mine arrived in new condition without any blemishes. Just my 2 cents.

But don’t these things go for about $1100 new? This seems like a pretty good deal. Way better than the typical $50 discount you get for refurbished stuff.

Can you add a drive? 256 is nowhere near enough. Dropbox alone is more than that. I could not sync Dropbox and pull from the net but that’s a pain.

Bought one of these last time and I really like it.

Very sharp looking and runs really well.

Only slight quibble is it gets uncomfortably hot in the lap while recharging (no issue when it’s not plugged in) but other than that this is a very good laptop and good buy.

Also bought one June 8 this year. Arrived way before the June 24 expected delivery date  As with other comments, I could not find any blemishes, scratches, anything on the outside that would make this look refurbished. I am very happy with this. The one thing I had to do was go into settings and make it so that the screen would automatically rotate. The 256GB drive is no issue with me. I am using this as an ultra portable/convertible laptop/tablet. I have no expectations that I could fit my entire document, picture, music and program library on this. I am a teacher and most schools are starting to use google docs and google classroom anyway. All I need is a good internet connection and all my work is at my fingertips.

With 90-day warranty, anyone see the need for Fair Trade extended warranty?

Apparently you never owned an Omni…

I bought one of these last time and decided to skip the ST warranty option. I’m glad I did because I was happily surprised when I registered it with HP, I got a 1 year warranty instead of the posted 90 days. However, YMMV.

You can only replace the drive.
e.g. with this one
which is fast (and confirmed to work).

Is Ram up-gradable?
