HP ZBook 17-G3 17.3" FHD i7, M1000M Workstation

I bought this back in late July, and it sat on a shelf until this month when I finally got around to backing up all my files and preparing to transition over.

After only a day of very gentle, desktop use, Something is wrong with the LCD hinge, and the screen flickers on and off. I have no idea what is wrong, but it appears to be a widespread HP screen issue when I search for it.

The product codes and serial numbers for these refurb models don’t show up consistently in searches at HP support, so I cannot even get to the step of contacting HP support to ask for a repair or replacement part.

How am I supposed to get it fixed if HP can’t find this product in their own systems, and I can’t call or chat with anyone?

Please help.

Did you register the computer on their site? That’s usually the first thing to try. Most computer manufacturers register the computer to the reseller first.

I just did that today. I have also heard back from the “Woot-side” within a few hours. I’ll keep this page updated with my progress.

We live in an age of wonders; I am complaining about a relatively minor cosmetic defect in my personal super-computer…the likes of which was not even conceivable in WWII or the Apollo Program. I want results, but my expectations are appropriately calibrated. I appreciate the efforts of ALL Wooters as we strive to deliver that CE!

Saw the videos today of the “the boss” christening his wind farm in TX. You got to break a few Zbooks to break a few more wine bottles. Shine on you crazy diamond.
