Looks good!
Luckily, I have a Costco nearly with prime grade brisket. If it didn’t, I’d be tempted to try this for my smoker…
Either way I’m probably going to burn the roof of my mouth…
If you’re going to be smoking a brisket for 12 hours or more (and you should), save your money and buy a $2/lb brisket from Wally World. After 12+ hours, just about any hunk of meat will be tender and awesome.
I am so tempted by this.
A website re is it worth it?
Then the price, ~ $10/lb
Not bad for a little luxury… dang. This will bother me all day
Is wagyu necessary for smoking? seems like you would be throwing away money. the point of smoking meat is to turn a lousy chunk of meat into an incredible masterpiece.
I disagree. I’ve smoked several varieties of heritage and pasture-raised pork shoulders, and the taste is far superior to the standard grocery store fare of which I’ve smoked many more. I’m not vouching for this particular cut of meat, but there is certainly a difference in the finished product based on the quality of the product beforehand.
looks to be maybe just the flat?
Can some woot person confirm this is a packer trimmed brisket and the point is still there?
Not wagyu, and probably not a whole packer.
Get a prime whole packer for almost half this price.
$10\lb for brisket doesn’t seem bad at all. These are huge slabs of meat.
What’s the deal with “Delivered in time for July 4th!” vs. “Estimated delivery Jul 12 - Jul 17”?
I think some of you miss the point. Yes, smoking for a long time will make tough meat tender. But that will not change the flavor much. Wagyu is very marbled and all the extra fat adds flavor you don’t get with lesser cuts of meat. I’ve tried different grades and I don’t like the highest grade, too fatty for me, but the lower grade is quite tasty and you will taste the difference between it and cheaper meats.
I was going to say the same thing. It’s not a bad deal at all and quality does matter if you actually like to taste the meat versus drowning it in BBQ sauce to eat it.
This. Definitely need to know if its trimmed/untrimmed and if this is with or without the point. The vendor’s website pics looks to be a vac packed untrimmed brisket, but the woot pictures don’t seem to reflect it.
The estimation dates are built into our system. WCC is working with the vendor to get them to you before July 4.

Asking.
hahaha EPIC!
Count another potential wooter who would like to know the answer to this question.
Well, those who are left waiting on more information are no longer able to get the 14-16 lb option anymore since they’re sold out. I would have pulled the trigger at midnight had everything been just been a tad more clear. What a bummer…
